‘Nana Pearl’ is homage to my grandmother who also loved to feed people and who always reminded me of the singer, Pearl Bailey.

After graduate school, (MBA, NYU), I came to a cross roads that had been created by several life changing events.  Closing one door meant there was an opportunity to open another one.  But, which one?

So, I did some soul searching, lots of praying and lots of listening.   What could I do everyday with joy, was the question.  Baking was the answer; I had been a serious baker for years.  After working in a bakery, an internship, professional culinary instruction and lots of encouragement from family and friends Nana Pearl’s Wooden Spoon was launched.
